Tornadoes Formation, Classification, And Warnings Essay

Tornadoes: Formation, Classification, and Warnings GEG 1001-01 Christy Williams Jeff Fesperman November 12, 2016 Many people seem to think of great danger and destruction when they think of Tornadoes. However, in the past hundred years, technology has made it possible for meteorologists to predict and detect tornadoes. Modern people in the United States are very well educated about this dangerous phenomenon, which helps to reduce the risks of injury and death. The formation of a tornado has several factors and is a complex system. The Fujita scale is what is used to classify and categorize tornadoes. Tornadoes can be very dangerous, however, knowing the cause, how they are classified, and what precautions to take can drastically reduce the risk of injury. The cause of tornadoes has several factors including formation and weather conditions. First off, the development of a tornado starts off as a thunderstorm. A thunderstorm is a fairly general and commonly occurring weather phenomenon. However tornadoes are not as common, they are formed by a vertical column that extends from the base of a cloud, which also has to be spinning, which forms a vortex creating what the average human knows as a funnel cloud (Brodie). Most people learned about the formation of a funnel cloud at a young age, most often children are taught about this through using a common object. More often than not it is a water bottle, and in this demonstration, one will spin or shake the water bottleShow MoreRelatedSevere Weather On The United States Essay2187 Words   |  9 Pagesextreme weather inside its borders (Rice, 2013). Julits Dairy Essay Example For Students

Julits Dairy Essay Today was one of the best days of my life. Oh, I am so happy and confused and sad. What to do, I know not. I just got engaged to a man named Romeo. I have to tell you the most exiting news. . . . Im getting married!!! Oh, can you die of happiness? Let me tell you what happened. Well the day started as I woke up early in the morning full of excitement, with the sun shining through the bedroom window. I just knew that today was going to be such an amazing day not just because I was going to the party but because I felt something different inside of me today, a feeling that is neither happiness nor sadness, a feeling indescribable. So there I was in my blue sunlit room putting on my shiny pink dress and getting ready for the party. Ive always wanted to wear this dress as it was a present that my mother had given me long ago, yet I never had the chance to wear it. It was a lovely pink dress covered in sequences and flowers. After I was ready I went out of the bedroom, downstairs and walked outside, a beautiful carriage was waiting for me, ready to take me away. I stepped on to the carriage and looked back to see my nurse smiling and waving to say goodbye. As I arrived closer to the party I could hear music and chattering from lots of people. I stepped out of the carriage to see people dancing and people with masks on. Then just then something caught my eye I look up and I noticed a beautiful, handsome man. This is when I met Romeo. At first, I didnt think him so grand. Just another handsome guest, here to enjoy the party. But the way he looked at me. his eyes burning with such passion, he made me feel as though I were the only woman in the world! He took me aside and sweet-talked me. I remember every word that was murmured. Our hands touched, and a sharp tingling feeling went through my nerves. During the rest of the party I only had eyes for him and I felt his attention focused on me constantly. We kept gazing at each other. Then just after all the dancing finished we met again. Thats when it happened. The moment came, when two hearts race, both win. And thats exactly what happened. We kissed, and murmured beautiful words that will never escape my memory, and then, our hearts leapt again, and we were as one. Just when I was beginning to enjoy myself, my father broke into our fantasy, saying that Mother wanted to see me. Reluctantly, I tore away from him. After I had spoken to my mum I went back out to see Romeo but he wasnt there. I searched and searched for him however I could not find him. My heart wrenched, sinking. Afterwards I sent nurse to find his name. He is Romeo a Montague. When I heard that my heart sank even more. See, heres the problem. His and my families are enemies, and I know not what to do. I left shortly after and went to my room. I gazed out at the night sky from my balcony and discussed my thoughts aloud, to myself. Suddenly I heard a rustle of leaves below, I just thought it would be one of the servants. But No! For it was Romeo. As he climbed up to the balcony to my room I could smell his sweet aroma follow in behind. It was if the warmth of our love was melting away the abomination between the Montagues and the Capulets. Soon, I was in Romeos arms and his in mine. I knew it was really dangerous so I asked me to leave as soon as he could. He swore his love to me and he asked me to marry him. I was so delighted I lunged into his arms. At that moment nurse was calling me so I parted with him. .u5a717ab6d1cfeb033a9ea4addb5f4979 , .u5a717ab6d1cfeb033a9ea4addb5f4979 .postImageUrl , .u5a717ab6d1cfeb033a9ea4addb5f4979 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u5a717ab6d1cfeb033a9ea4addb5f4979 , .u5a717ab6d1cfeb033a9ea4addb5f4979:hover , .u5a717ab6d1cfeb033a9ea4addb5f4979:visited , .u5a717ab6d1cfeb033a9ea4addb5f4979:active { border:0!important; } .u5a717ab6d1cfeb033a9ea4addb5f4979 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u5a717ab6d1cfeb033a9ea4addb5f4979 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u5a717ab6d1cfeb033a9ea4addb5f4979:active , .u5a717ab6d1cfeb033a9ea4addb5f4979:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u5a717ab6d1cfeb033a9ea4addb5f4979 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u5a717ab6d1cfeb033a9ea4addb5f4979 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u5a717ab6d1cfeb033a9ea4addb5f4979 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u5a717ab6d1cfeb033a9ea4addb5f4979 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u5a717ab6d1cfeb033a9ea4addb5f4979:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u5a717ab6d1cfeb033a9ea4addb5f4979 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u5a717ab6d1cfeb033a9ea4addb5f4979 .u5a717ab6d1cfeb033a9ea4addb5f4979-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u5a717ab6d1cfeb033a9ea4addb5f4979:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: The production as a whole EssayI couldnt get to sleep all night thinking about my wedding. Especially when my heart cleaves unto another. My guess is that Romeo and I will run away together. Oh, how romantic! I fear that my parents might find out and I cant imagine the horrible thought of what is going to happen if they do find out. Oh Romeo, how deep is my love for him. Pity hes a Montague and not a Capulet. Youll be my only and I will still love you even I the sky is falling down.

Macbeth Downfall Essays (635 words) - Characters In Macbeth

Macbeth Downfall In William Shakespeare s Macbeth, the main character, Macbeth, is a brave and loyal subject to the King of Scotland, but as the play progresses, his character begins to change drastically. Evil and unnatural powers, as well as his own desire to become king, take over his better half and eventually lead to his downfall. Three main factors that intertwine with one another that contribute to Macbeth s tragic end are the prophecies told by the three witches, Lady Macbeth s influence, and finally, Macbeth s excessive ambition which drove his desire to become king. The prophecy told by the three witches was what triggers the other factors that contribute to Macbeth s downfall. In the first act, Macbeth is told by the witches that he is to become the Thane of Cawdor and soon after, king. This prophecy arouses Macbeth s curiosity of how he can become the King of Scotland. Stay, you imperfect speakers. Tell me more. By Sinel s death I kno I am Thane of Glamis. But how of Cawdor? The Thane of Cawdor lives a prosperous gentleman, and to be king stands not within the prospect of belief. (Act 1. sc.3) This quote shows how the witches prophecy attracts Macbeth. It demonstrated how Macbeth thirsts for an answer from the witches of how is he to become the Thane of Cawdor and king. As the play continues, Macbeth slowly relies on the witches prophecies. It becomes a remedy for Macbeth s curiosity which corrupts his character. One of the witches prophecies becomes true when Macbeth is named the Thane of Cawdor by King Duncan. At this point, Macbeth seeks advice from his wife, Lady Macbeth. Lady Macbeth provides a scheme for Macbeth to assassinate the King. She is manipulative and persuasive in corrupting Macbeth s judgement. What beast was t then, that you break this enterprise to me? When you durst do it, then you were a man; And to be more than what you are, you would be so much more the man K Khad I sworn as you have done this. (Act 1. Sc.7) In this quote, Lady Macbeth is agitating Macbeth by saying he is not a man if he does not do what he says he is going to do, which is to murder the king. This angers Macbeth and enables him to follow Lady Macbeth s scheme to kill the king and continue killing. Macbeth s first murder is a trying experience for him. However, as the play progresses, killing seems to be the only solution to maintain his reign of the people of Scotland. Macbeth becomes increasingly ambitious as the play goes on. The witches prophecies and Lady Macbeth s influence intensifies his ambition and drives Macbeth to obtain and maintain his title of Scotland by whatever means, even murdering his best friend, Banquo. Upon my head they placed a fruitless crown K..No Son of mine succeeding K..If t be so, for Banquo s Issue have I filed my mind; For them the gracious Duncan I have murdered K..to make them kings, the Seeds of Banquo kings (Act 3. sc.1) At this point Macbeth s becomes more and more extreme to the point where no one stands in his way. His greed, violence, and hunger for power declines his character. The witches prophecy, Lady Macbeth s influence, and Macbeth s own ambition all contribute greatly to his deterioration of character which results in his downfall, which was death. All the causes link to one another. If it wasn t for witches prophecies, Macbeth would still be his ordinary self. Because of these prophecies, Macbeth s curiosity of possibly becoming king was brought out which led Lady Macbeth s controlling influence. Macbeth s ambition then builds and causes him to commit a series of murders, one of which, include his own best friend. If one of these factors were missing, Macbeth would not have been strong enough to carry the motive to kill King Duncan, which ultimately leads to his destruction.
